A mantra is “a sound, syllable, word, or group of words that is considered capable of ‘creating transformation.'

This mantra meditation is centred around the mantra Auṃ maṇi padme hūṃ(Sanskrit: ॐ मणिपद्मे हूँ, IPA: [õːː mɐɳɪpɐdmeː ɦũː])  the six-syllabled Sanskrit mantra particularly associated with the four-armed Shadakshari form of Avalokiteshvara, the bodhisattva of compassion.

Mantras give the wandering mind a focal point. 

Mantras are also considered to act as a key, allowing us to move to new levels of awareness. They help us transcend every day thinking to allow in a greater sense of divine connection.
